Kettle Creek/Bush Dam

Goosehunter's thread in the General Hunting Forum(20 yrs ago today) got me thinking about our camp and weather events.

Does anyone remember when the lake at Bush Dam was flooded? Sometime in the 80's id say, might have been 90's, the old brain isnt what it used to be I thought I had a picture but cant seem to find them. After the flooding receded, we took some pictures. One was a picnic table 30-40 ft above water level up in a tree. Almost straight across Sugar Camp Rd if I remember right. I know some of you folks have camps by the lake or close to....anyone have pics or remember the flooding?

Not sure what year it was either but I remember Stevenson Dam on the First Fork was the same way. The water mark was up in the tree tops !

This is who we are. This is what we do.

I'm pretty sure there is a sign along the road near the dam lookout that says... "High Water 1993".

Let me tell ya, that would have been dang high!

Re: Kettle Creek/Bush Dam

There is a sign near the camping area at Alvin Bush. If you stand at that sign and imagine what the valley looked like....wow! Not sure but I think that is the 1972 Agnes high water mark.

I was thinking the "1972" sign was by the park office.

Re: Kettle Creek/Bush Dam

Ya, the flood im talking about most likely wasnt near what Agnes was. Not sure how well this pic will turn out, but somewhere around the arrow is where the water would have been....
