Cross Fork Sportsman Show

Anyone going to camp this weekend and attending the sportsman show at the fire hall in Cross Fork this Saturday?

This often is the weekend people who close their camps after deer season come to open them for the spring and upcoming trout season. There should be as lot of people heading to their camps - and taking in the Sport Show.

Re: Cross Fork Sportsman Show

I went one time, that was enough for me. I wish them well, but theres just not enough there to interest me. Pretty much the same with the rest of town. I do like stopping at the store for ice cream, but havent been in Jeffs in ages. Or the Hotel since Patty and Darryl owned it. Well maybe once for supper. Since the snake hunt turned into a bike rally I tend to stick to the mountain. Besides, thats what im there for anyway. Enjoy Karl! Hopefully things will be a little warmer come the weekend.

OK Rod! Been a while since I've seen you guys up there.

You're not all wrong about the show PAhick! not much, but something to do for a little while. I'll stop down, bur have a lot of other stuff to get done in the four or five fays I'll be up! And if you haven't been in "The Fork" since Patty and Darrel had the hotel, I'd say you're way past due to stop there!

Hey Karl! I'm probably going to be up this weekend to see if the woodcock are around. If I do make it, I'll stop in to your place and see if you're in.

That will be a nice, quiet weekend! Good choice! I've been past your place a lot this winter...haven't seen you in for a while.

Re: Cross Fork Sportsman Show

Yeah I have not been able to get up there since December. Was in Iowa for 10 days in early January and then work has been getting in the way along with some events around home since then. But I think I have all that caught up and behind me to free up time for spring.

The ice is finally off Kettle Creek, and they'll be stocking trout behind your camp. Trout season might even finally get here...!

Boy I sure wish they wouldn't stock that cold water early. I have never been to the Cross Fork show as they hold it the same time that trout starts in the Southeast.
