Re: When to leave the water on?

Without a heat source I wouldn't recommend leaving the water on yet. Still a few god cold snaps left.

We drain the lines between October 15 and April 15. I wouldn't leave it on yet.

Re: When to leave the water on?

Yea it's a tricky time of year as far as weather goes. Went up for Easter last which was in late march and didn't drain the system, left the water on and the week after it got very cold and we dodged a bullet IMO. I would rather be safe then sorry, with pex you have some wiggle room but why take the chance, like you said with the winter we have had.

Re: When to leave the water on?

We've had freezing temps during early turkey season (late Apr./early May) in Potter Co. Not cold enough, long enough to damage water lines but below freezing.

Eh...wot?

Re: When to leave the water on?

We wait till mid april. I'll be up next week Thurday thru Monday and i'll drain it off when I leave. If I don't I know I won't be able to sleep at night worrying that the pipes will burst when i'm 3 hrs away.

Re: When to leave the water on?

We drain ours at the end of deer season, close up and open camp in April for trout. Leave the water on then until deer season again. No one uses the camp Jan, Feb, Mar
