I wouldn't want to be a bear in the SRA, LOL, or a pheasant in Pike Run.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

Seriously? Friend of mine (the guy that has the crow issue) lives in the Pike Run area. He saw one last winter. There just are not many there.

There are; however; plenty of crows.

I thought a "wild pheasant" was an endangered species!

An expansion of bear harvest opportunity is also proposed. The taking of black bear by properly licensed hunters during all deer seasons from September through mid-December in wildlife management units (WMUs) 1A, 2B, 5B, 5C and 5D will be allowed.
Nice! I just wish I could use the new rifle on it, perhaps they'll suspend the no rifle rule in bucks...yeah not likely. How the heck do I kill a bear with a 12guage 18.5 inch shotgun? Well I guess time to find a book on shotgun hunting.

Bear, Extended firearms 4 Nov. 26 Dec. 8 1 1
WMUs 1A, 2B, 5B, 5C & 5D
Man did I pick a good time to get into hunting!

Can someone explain the rational for this? I'm not trying to be accusatory, I just don't know enough about the reasoning, I know it was the same this season.

WMUs 5B, 5C & 5D Closed to fall turkey hunting

Deer, Extended Regular firearms (Antlerless) Dec. 26 Jan. 26, 2013 An antlerless deer
WMUs 2B, 5C & 5D with each required
antlerless license.
YES! I was hoping this wouldn't change. But of course I'm thinking no Marlin 336 for 5C

Re: January 2012 GC BOC Meeting Agenda LINK

True and the Alaska State Police use it for bears there, so I guess it should be fine. I guess I just want to be able to use the new Marlin. I can't complain too much I could be in Philadlphia County and unable to get to other parts of th state. That said where does one hunt in Philly, in Fairmount Park?

I am for additional opportunities for hunters, but holy over bear hunting batman. I am pretty liberal on hunting days and times, but something doesn`t feel right about all of the bear hunting they are proposing.
