Is it illegal to plant trees on state land?

I have some ideas and didn't know it was legal to plant trees I am sure they have to be non invasive I was figuring on oaks and pines.

Yes, it is illegal, unless you have specific permission from the agency that controls the land.

that stinks o well there goes that idea I never saw anything on it that is why i asked maybe i wll seek permission yet.

I would contact them.Depending on the status of the health of the woodlot,they might welcome you with welcome arms if they know of the nature of where those trees have come from(Like a GC approved nursery or natural source).Heck,they might even furnish the trees(maybe but probably not).
