Farmer on Sunday Hunting

Just to let you all know I just received my monthly Farm Bureau,s Country Focus paper. In it is 2 pages full of all of the Legislators and Representatives so that farmers and members like me can call in to vent our disapproval of SH.Oh I called all right, but not for me bein agaisn,t SH but for tellin them all that I am for it.Also that I am a full time farmer and that their is alot of farmers like myself that feels the same way and that PFB does not speak for all of us.Then the bureau wants us to call them and tell them which official we contacted.Well I called them all right and I guess I don,t have to tell you all what I told them.Be patient,it may or may not go this time but it is just a matter of time.

Re: Farmer on Sunday Hunting

You need to get involved with your county FB and make a difference there.

Thanks for speaking up.

You have your land open to those who ask to hunt?

Yes,I granted permission over the years.I did have a guy ask this year that I did turn down cause he purposely left plastic gloves and litter in my pasture fields on purpose. He didn,t want to pack it out after it was bloody after he gutted his deer.He admitted it.That is a cattle death trap.Anyway,we have a pretty nice crowd that has been comin out for years and I would consider other people once some either decide not to hunt or can,t make it for some reason or other. With the layout of my land everyone has to know where everyone is,where all the cattle is and knowing where all the bldgs are and where the bullits will go.We are big on safety but have lots of fun.

Re: Farmer on Sunday Hunting

Coming from another farmer. Im a custom farmer so I interact with many people. I dont know of anybody we do work for that is against SH, other than the very few who wont allow hunting at all now. In the SE part of the state, crop damage is terrible. I have people begging me to shoot deer. I have a pic of 42 deer destroying a 12 acre beanfield. Thats a lot of deer for a field that small.

Re: Farmer on Sunday Hunting

Thanks for being involved.

I understand there will be a resolution this week with regard to Sunday Hunting at the State-wide Farm Bureau Meeting.

Please let your county know you support Sunday Hunting and ask them to vote YES on the resolution.

Its also a good idea to have your friends who are farmers do the same.
