500K hunters in 2025.
In one of the posts I saw the Projection, that the hunter decrease by 2025 will be 500,000 hunter in PA. Some rely on that figure as proof that hunters will not be exterminating the whitetail in the big woods.
I don't think that reasoning necessarily follows. By 2025, at current rates, how much less open hunting land will there be. How many new houses? How many will be plopped down in such a way that the safety zones occupy 14 acres. How many more parks, and closed hunting lands, leases etc. Will the hunter density on land open to hunting actually go down or will it increase?
