Sunday Hunting Role Call - Put Up or Shut Up

With everyone here spouting their opinions for/against Sunday hunting, I want to call out all the internet tough guys. I challange everyone to actually take the time to tell the poeple that matter, and not just spout your opinions on the internet uselessly. After you contact the officials on the game & fish committee at http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/...?cde=18&body=H please post your correspondence here, for or against, but only those that actually took the time to make contact and speak out!

Here's mine,

Dear sir,
I would like to speak out in support of Sunday hunting. Iím a young father that has been hunting since I was allowed by law, and I have 2 young sons that are eager to get involved in hunting. However, the time I have for hunting falls 3rd behind my family obligations and work. While my work schedule doesnít allow me to hunt before or after work, my only day to plan for hunting is Saturdays. With a very active family, my Saturday hunting is still limited. Hunting provides me, and my growing sons, some relaxing time to enjoy the outdoors and everything it has to offer, away from the everyday hustle and bustle we experience. I urge you to please give the PGC the option to allow Sunday hunting, and to regulate as they see fit. Having the option to hunt on Sunday to me, would essentially double my time possible to enjoy a pastime that is restricted like any other hobby or pastime. While I respect landowners, farmers, and people with other interests, they are all free to choose when and how they enjoy private and public land whenever they want. Only those that enjoy hunting are regulated when they can enjoy their pastime. So I urge you to please vote to give the PGC the right to regulate Sunday hunting, and hopefully remove the unnecessary restrictions hunters are now faced with.

Sincerely,

That which does not kill me, only makes me stronger.

That's what I've been doing. I used to comment a lot in support of Sunday hunting on this forum, which is basically gonna get us nowhere fast. Been concentrating efforts where it matters. Good letter by the way.

It was an enjoyable read, sounded very sincere, polite and didn't have a me, me tone to it. The sentence that stood out to me, "However, the time I have for hunting falls 3rd behind my family obligations and work".

Do you actually think the people that are against SH would chance posting an Anti SH correspondence with a legislator on here--Might as well give them a single shot pistol and challenge them to play russian roulette. The bashing they'd take on here wouldn't be worth it---JMO

I thought you were All Sundays, All seasons, All In.....?

First step get the politicians out of it, second step, lobby the BOC for "all in" if you see fit. After all, the PGC is the agency that sets seasons and bag limits. Oh, I forgot, the politicians do it here sometimes.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

Kinda hard to go All Sundays, All seasons, All in..... if the legislature won't pass a bill that would allow it.

I find it amusing that he wants the legislature to set seasons. Lsat time that happened, we had more than a few critters on the verge of extinction.
