Sunday Hunting

Just heard on the radio that the Game Comission has passed the bill for Sunday Hunting to be legal in Pennsylvania. I am extatic about this because that will give me another day in the woods. I beleive that they said that it will be in effect next year. Has anyone heard anything else about this and what is everyones thoughts?

Re: Sunday Hunting

Not positive but I think there was a study released yesterday stating that it would raise $804M, but I dont think a bill has been passed as of yet.

Re: Sunday Hunting

Dont like it...
not trying to be rude in any way but i belive that:
1) The deer need a break too especially during gun season...
2) i hunt every day and need atleased one day off lol
3) when am i going to move stands/check trail cameras if i can hunt everyday and dont have a free day such as sunday too do that.
if you want sunday hunting good for you but i will probably just go to church and then move my stands and let the deer have a break from me.

give em the shaft!

Re: Sunday Hunting

It wasn't up to the game commission to pass this, it was state government that has to approve it. And if the bill passes, it gives the game commission the power to allow sunday hunting. It doesn't automatically mean sunday hunting is ok for all species in all seasons.

Hunting: 10% skill and 90% location.

Re: Sunday Hunting

IF it passes I can see a lot of private land becoming appealing to leasers, especially out of state leasers. Be worth their while to come in for the weekend.

Ever check land lease prices in states that allow SH now?

Kinda ridiculous.

It is hard to prevent oneself from believing what one so keenly desires

Re: Sunday Hunting

Dont you have to have game on the land for it to be worth leasing?

Re: Sunday Hunting

slow way down, its still in committee. not coming up for a vote until the 27th of this month. and then it still has to pass the house and the senate. the pgc has nothing to do with it. its up to our state reps. and senators. contact them if you care. NOW
