Lapsed Hunter Survey

This is the report delivered on Monday, Oct. 3, at the PGC/BOC meeting. Results of the study on why hunters do not buy a license each year.

Re: Lapsed Hunter Survey

It was very interesting when Ms Jagnow unveiled it at the meeting, as a power point presentation.

Plus some interesting comments afterwards, from some who had an idea why hunters tend to lapse between their teens and their 30s and 40s.

Re: Lapsed Hunter Survey

Yeah. I am waiting for the FULL report. Neville seems to think I will be OK with what was presented. I want the report that it came from.

Re: Lapsed Hunter Survey

It will be- even more-so when the entire report is seen, and NOT just the power point.

Re: Lapsed Hunter Survey

I don't see anything that isn't already known in that survey. I also don't see anything that can be changed that will stop the loss of hunters. Using surveys to make changes is nothing but desperate knee jerk attempts to stop the tide. Times are changing, people are changing and it will not stop. We would be better off preparing for less hunters and the cost of running the PGC than depending on surveys as any kind of solution.

I BOTH agree and disagree John. Recruitment and retention efforts can work

We have to try to do what we can.

Re: Lapsed Hunter Survey

The report isn't intended to be a solution.

But before ya can figure out how to deal with a problem, first it helps to figure out all the things that led to the problem in the first place.

I gotta say I agree 100% John!
