Reduced fee military license

The house passed the reduced fee military bills today. Almost forgot.

Off to the Senate.

Re: Reduced fee military license

It can't be reduced anymore than it is for disabled vets, free.

It's only free for 100% Disabled = Loss of Limb. They do not offer anything else for any other % of disability.

Re: Reduced fee military license

That might be an issue you can push for, but the bill right now is still a good one and worthy of support.

Re: Reduced fee military license

Having served in the military, I guess some are going to be a little shocked by this comment.

How many free or reduced licenses can the agency afford to give?

Should we extend them to those with a PACE card? How about those who get earned income credit? Unemployed?

53% of HPA hunters are veterans. Should we all get them? We all served. Some of us were luckier than others and came out unscathed- but we all sacrificed something.

Should we extend it to all law enforcement? They all served us. Firemen? They serve too. Ambulance workers? They drive at high speeds in all kinds of conditions and I bet some of those occupations have post traumatic stress disorders.

Where do we draw the line?

Re: Reduced fee military license

Active duty lic should be reduced. I say they look at disability at a per case basis. I qualify for disability becuase of my hearing from the military. DOn't think I should get free lic because of it though. Someone like my buddy who has reconstructive surgery on his face from an IED, still has some PTSD issues, definately should get reduced. NOt all disabililty is physical. I could go on and on, but I have chemistry homework to do.. LOL

Re: Reduced fee military license

Gal, your point is a valid one. But as to the bill at hand, I see no problem with giving someone on Active duty, and home on leave for probably a short period, a reduced fee license.
Veterans? No, simply because as you said, there's way too many of us. Veterans, Firemen, and LE with a certain percent service related disability may be something supportable as well.
