One of the ongoing debates on the forum is access to hunting land. Some argue that with SH for example, much land will be posted. Having hunted in PA for about 60 years, I wonder how many guys actually have permission to hunt the woods they are in??
Best regards, Glenn
Ain't no such thing as a "couldahad" with the bow"
The one thing about the poll is it doesn't take into account public land. You don't need permission to hunt there. Just a thought but it is probably skewing your results because people who hunt public land have to vote none of the above. You won't find out how many people are hunting private land without permission.
Traditions only last if you pass them down to your kids!
i have verbal permission to hunt a lot of farms. just about any person we do custom work for allows me to hunt. its a shame i dont hunt PA anymore, i would have it made. i was givin permission, well actually i was told to shoot yotes yesterday at the property i was tedding hay at. i'll stick to the 50 acres in MD though, the 1000's in PA just dont seem inviting anymore.
This poll only takes about half of the general hunting population into consideration. I'm a land owner, do I get a say. Same with public land hunters and people that may hunt friends/family lands.....add some more options and you'll get a better idea of how people feel..... Good idea for the poll though!
most private lands i hunt we need written permission.
the townships and boro's passed laws that while using land for recreation you must have written permission slips on you at all times. and when the police come they do ask for it, and sometimes take you to the land owner to check.
