Re: DCNR Roads Open

It means more DCNR roads open for access in hunting seasons.

Something which many often complain about here, when roads are not opened during hunting seasons.

Re: DCNR Roads Open

If you can see them going in and out 5 times a day, and it is effecting your hunting, get farther off the road.

One of my best buck was taken off an old logging road. He stopped to watch a truck going down the logging road...just enough time to send him a lead present.

I was as far as I could go last year on top of the mountain the first day of archery and could still hear them going in and out I go up there to get away from that

Of which I am one. I dont like that some are open, then closed, only to be reopened again for a time. And I still maintain if the roads are actively used and maintained by gas companies(to check wells, not construction) they should be open from oct. to jan.

Im sorry if you feel that activity hampers your hunting. To me, it definitely has not. I dont mind it at all. If someone jumps out and starts throwing lead my way, then ill change my mind

Re: DCNR Roads Open

So tell me, what does everyone want? DCNR is holding their next hunting leadership roundtable with all of the conservation groups.

I'll be glad to pass the word that members of Huntingpa wanted the roads open before one or two wanted them closed.

Thanks to these roundtables, more than 500 additional miles of roads have been open from the start of the season through January- UNLESS erosion or safety becomes an issue.

That allows a greater number of hunters more access to areas preveiously inaccessable to all but the most die hard and in the best shape folks. I really LIKE the idea of hunters being spread out more and more people being able to access these areas.

So what is it HPA? Leave them open? Or close them down?
