Wilkes-Barre, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will host a public hearing regarding Broad Mountain Power, LLC’s application for a National Pollutant Discharge and Elimination System (NPDES) permit for the proposed Broad Mountain Wind Project to be located in Nesquehoning Borough and Packer Township, Carbon County. The hearing will take place on Monday, October 21, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Weatherly Area Middle/Elementary School located at 602 6th St., Weatherly, PA 18255.
The company plans to construct 21 windmills on a 290-acre tract of land on top of Broad Mountain, which spans both communities. A public notice advertising the hearing was published in the PA Bulletin on September 14 and will be published in the Times-News newspaper on September 20.
Those wishing to pre-register to comment at the October 21 public hearing or those who wish to submit written testimony can contact Colleen Connolly, Community Relations Coordinator at [email protected]
