Senate Bill 552 APPROVED

in a newsletter i received from State Senator Dan Laughlin: Senate bill 552 was approved by the Game and Fisheries Committee which he chairs.
this bill gives the PGC the authority to establish fees.

and SB 553 gives the Pa fish and boat commission the authority to establish fees:

hopefully all this will take effect and the PGC & PFBC can get the financing they need to keep thing running smoothly.

A01217 by Laughlin, adjusts the sunset date from 2020 to 2022, and increases the time for the Legislative Budget Finance Committee has to make its report to 180 days. The amendment was unanimously adopted.

Sen. Pat Stefano (R-Fayette) said both SB 552 and 553 authorize the Game Commission and Fish and Boat Commission to set their own fees. He emphasized legislative oversight will remain in the process.
