The Reading Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society is named in honor of Charlie Bechtel. Grouse hunts with Charlie were always pleasurable, and a finer gentleman never trampled the coverts of Pennsylvania.
When the Game Commission added a couple of weeks to the winter season for grouse, Charlie lamented that, "you can't have more grouse, if you shoot more grouse!"
Pleased to see the Ruffed Grouse Society's name is missing among those of the "coalition".
Quote:I think the thoughts are, that IF, a poll was to be cast on all PENNSYLLVANIAN'S, from all walks of life, the majority of the respondents would be against Sunday Hunting.
And the majority just might be against hunting altogether.
Well absolutely. Which is the argument many of the anti SH use. That being, it's not just an issue of a small vocal minority of Pennsylvanians that hunt, it's an issue for all Pennsylvanians. It's obviously an issue with the PFB.
As stated (twice before I think). I can care less if it's implemented. Doesn't affect me in the least. Well, it kinda does. I'd discourage hunting on my farm as I have very valid reasons as to why I don't want hunting on Sunday on my farm. But I'd actually be happy for camp owners that have to travel long distances, in that, they have an extra day to work with.
