Meet the Sunday Hunting Coalition

http://sundayhunting.org/

Several other partners have joined as well. There goes the theory of some that this is a "minority" effort.

Re: Meet the Sunday Hunting Coalition

I think the thoughts are, that IF, a poll was to be cast on all PENNSYLLVANIAN'S, from all walks of life, the majority of the respondents would be against Sunday Hunting.

Understandably, those orgs. listed, just by nature of them being hunting-based, would overwhelmingly be for SH.

And the majority just might be against hunting altogether.

Re: Meet the Sunday Hunting Coalition

The Reading Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society is named in honor of Charlie Bechtel. Grouse hunts with Charlie were always pleasurable, and a finer gentleman never trampled the coverts of Pennsylvania.

When the Game Commission added a couple of weeks to the winter season for grouse, Charlie lamented that, "you can't have more grouse, if you shoot more grouse!"

Pleased to see the Ruffed Grouse Society's name is missing among those of the "coalition".

Perhaps ALL hunting for grouse should be shutdown then?

As a member of RGS, perhaps I need to see what their stance is on SH?

Berks, I don't see anything by the RGS that they oppose it. I did find several older references where they sought membership opinion.

Well absolutely. Which is the argument many of the anti SH use. That being, it's not just an issue of a small vocal minority of Pennsylvanians that hunt, it's an issue for all Pennsylvanians. It's obviously an issue with the PFB.

As stated (twice before I think). I can care less if it's implemented. Doesn't affect me in the least. Well, it kinda does. I'd discourage hunting on my farm as I have very valid reasons as to why I don't want hunting on Sunday on my farm. But I'd actually be happy for camp owners that have to travel long distances, in that, they have an extra day to work with.

Re: Meet the Sunday Hunting Coalition

I have no clue where the RGS stands on the issue. Their national emblem didn't appear among the listed members of the pro-Sunday hunting coalition, and that fact warmed my heart.
