ADVISORY – RENOVO – TUESDAY – Wolf Administration to Announce Funding for Cooks Run Restoration Project

On behalf of Governor Tom Wolf, Secretary Patrick McDonnell will welcome media to a special event at Sproul State Forest to announce funding for an abandoned coal mine cleanup project to restore the Cooks Run watershed. Local and federal partners, along with DEP, will discuss the project and its goals. The event includes an optional tour of the project site.

Cooks Run Restoration is one of 14 projects statewide in the Abandoned Mine Land Reclamation Pilot Program, which targets reclamation in areas with strong potential for community, economic, and environmental outcomes.

used to fish Cook's run back in the mid 60's Uncle had a cabin nearby, (Big Rock Rod and Gun Club).....a bunch of boys from Danville and surrounding.

Great memories...beautiful brookie stream.....(back then).
