House Game Fisheries Committee Meeting Update

SB 77 Re: Dog Training. Passed unanimously.

SB 737 Re: Use of semi automatic rifles for hunting. The bill was amended by Gillespie to do away with specific species and allow the Game Commission to decide which species could be hunted with a semi auto. Senator Hutchinson was present and thanked the committee for entertaining the bill.

The amendment and bill passed unanimously.

HB 2321 Re: County Treasurers no longer issuing antlerless licenses. Bill passed 23-2. Negative votes from Peiffer and Wentling, no surprise.

HB 698 Re: Use of Track chairs for disabled while hunting. Passed unanimously.

HB 1168 Re: School districts making space available for HTE classes. Passed 24-1. No votes was Simms.

Issuance of doe tags should be very interesting next yr. The GC. better get rid of that company down in Tennesee.

Would be nice to also see some schools allow the class on school time.

Re: House Game Fisheries Committee Meeting Update

SO...SB737 PASSED

and we might be able to use semi autos for varmints and predators next year.

that's good news

and with the passage of HB 2321 county treasurers no longer issuing doe licenses, what's the alternative? sending directly to Harrisburg?

Hopefully they don't use common core math when figuring out bag limits.
