Re: Delaware: DNREC Considers Hiking Hunting Fees
PA isn't talking 80+ percent increases - nothing even close.
The last bill would have raised the license costs to $35 over 5 or 7 years. The initial increase was $4 to $25 for the general hunting licenses. Under the last bill, nearly all the tags remained the same cost.
Additionally, all youth licenses stayed the dame cost.
The adult NR license increased, but the NR youth license went to the same cost as a resident youth license.
A lot of thought went into the last bill.
The GC still needs the increase. Gas royalty and lease fee's are going to be educing rapidly. The largest influx of money was the lease money. Royalties will come over time. But as foretold, Marcellus is not the bonanza and self financing panacea some proclaimed it to be,
If any recall, I posted a detailed financial discussion that was part of the April 2014 working group meeting (GC BOC). In that, the reasons and expectations for GC finances were discussed in some detail.
They are already looking at cutting back in several areas as the leasing slows and more normal finances return.
