If you will be around Oregon Inlet fishing center, our crew has used Captain Jason of the Dream Girl. Limit of mahi on the first trip and limit of yellow fin on the second. In mid May, is tuna time. Mahi can be around though but the better numbers are usually during summer.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

No clue exactly where yet, fishing is the main purpose of the trip then I'll plan around that.

It's been some years now but went out of Oregon inlet several times on a boat called the Obsession.
Nice boat and great crew. 55' ( Yellow fin & Maui )
5 years in a row we rented a house the week before memorial Day. (good rates not prime season )

I believe the area we stayed in was Nags Head (Kill Devil Hill ) not far from the Marina.

Mid May might be a tad bit early for a good mahi run, but not impossible. Have you checked prices? Probably looking at between $1500 and $2000 for an all day trip, boats will usually take up to 6 people. Send me a pm and I can give you lots of info, and maybe even a very reasonable place to stay
