Money Island Marina

I always wanted to try exploring the Nantuxent Creek near Fortescue, NJ, finally got my chance Saturday.

54 perch, and a dozen keeper crabs. As well as a channel cat I kept, numerous perch that went back, along with undersize stripers. Probably the last crabs of the year for me.

Fished out of Money Island Marina, from what I understand they have a new owner and are trying to make a go of this place. I hope it works out for them!

You have some tasty eats right there. Its been a few years since I used that ramp but I've had some great trips out of that marina.

Curious are you catching those nice white perch in the back waters or offshore?? I normally do well in the Lower Susky just above the Flats on up to Conowingo Hydro Plant but by end of May the run of decent size is pretty much over.

Caught them in the tidal creeks, it was too windy to try fishing in the bay. I was there Saturday. I'm told they stay in the creeks all year long.

Honestly, I hooked up with a guy that knows the area, that's why I did so well. This is my first year learning to crab & fish the creeks leading into the bay, and I'm having a blast!

Hope this helps.
