Nice Day on the Delaware Bay

Fished with an old friend today. 20-30 years ago we use to hit the bay every chance we could and we reminisced about a lot of those old trips. The fishing in the DE bay has definitely fell on some hard times compared to years past but we had a really nice day today and landed 10 species of fish. The highlight for me was a big fat 17" trigger fish. I have never caught one anywhere but Florida. Grilled that baby tonight and it was delicious. I also got a nice 20"flounder and 16" weakfish. The 10 species of fish landed were flounder, trigger fish, bluefish, weakfish, croaker, porgy, oyster cracker, sea robbin, puffer fish, and snagged bunker.

I forgot the most fish we caught were 8-10" sea bass- they were a pain, and we did get 2 skates so we got 12 species!

the fishing in that bay has always cycled
when its good it can be spectacular
and when its bad it can be quite depressing

its good to see porgys being caught ,for several decades there wasn't even one caught

Da hawk ate my baby!!
