Thumbs up USCG Tamaroa

On May 10. 2017 The United States Coast Guard Cutter Tamaroa became a part of the artificial reef in Delaware Bay.
The story can be found here>Delaware, New Jersey partner to deploy Navy tug turned USCG cutter Zuni/Tamaroa as addition to Del-Jersey-Land artificial reef | State of Delaware News | News from Delaware State Government Agencies

Another addition to a reef site where several vessels already rest. Soon it will host many fish, all of which will be to short to bring into South Jersey ports

They had talked about sinking this one further up in the Delaware bay but not many places outside of the channel or anchorage for that to happen.

Someday soon they might end up placing the USS United States docked in Philly for the past 20 years out to join the old ATF-95.
It is unbelievable the amount of money they spend just to get these old boats ready for scuttling.

All the equipment they want to save. All the piping, valves, valve manifolds, tanks, etc. with fuel oils and lube oil. An awful lot to clean out onboard a ship.
