I mainly troll live bait, but occasionally throw plugs for stripers. When I do I use 7" chrome Redfins tossed close to shore and brought back into deep water. If you come across a school busting bait on top, toss a 7" white super fluke. Allow it to sink a bit as the larger fish are found at the bottom of the school. This time of year start in the James Creek area out towards the main body of the lake. I think trolling live bait or jigs is the best way to go though.
