We got rained out on our charter yesterday but today we awoke to 25 kt north winds. Our charter captain Scott Campbell on the Elizabeth Grace out of Teach's Lair in Hatteras Village assured us we would catch fish so we went for it.
We did an afternoon charter and got out there about 1pm. Anchored upcurrent from a bar and threw cut bait out along the edge. Didn't take long. We caught about 20 drum, a half dozen skate and a handful of blues in just 4 hours.
Give Captain Scott a call next time you're down this way. There's more drum in the sound than ever, and he'll put you on fish. Too bad we could only keep one slot fish per person. Here's our limit...all 8-10# fish. Good eating size.
