dropcamp elk recommendation

Anyone here have any personal experiences with a Colorado dropcamp outfitter? Looking to setup a 2014 second rifle or archery trip.. May try to go this falll but likely in 2014.

If you have the gear necessary you can rent horses and DIY and save about $1,000 a piece on the cost of the trip. We used to do it that way and ended up camped near a group of hunters that had a drop camp. The guy sent someone in the day before to setup the wall tent and that was it.

Try Kip Gates at Rivers Bend Outfitters. Did a guided hunt in 2008 and drop camps in 2010 and 2012. Great outfit and he will put you in good elk country.

Crazy Horse outfitters out of Pagosa Springs Colorado. Ask for Willy. GREAT guy. Hunt the Weminuchie wilderness area. LOTS of elk. No quads.

Look up Tenderfoot outfitters. We went twice with them. If I go again it will be with them.
