Musical guides is this normal?

I just got back from a mule deer & antelope hunt and tagged out. Now one thing that frustrated me was having 3 guides in 4 days. Is that normal? Did that ever happen to u? First 2 days had guide 1, 3rd day had guide 2, 4th day had guide 3 and we were about to get a 4th guide in pm of 5th day but my buddy tagged out in am on a small mulie. It also got confusing when it came to tips. They all worked hard but the last 2 were most experienced. I wasn't sure how to handle but we were killing things so I kept my mouth shut. What would you have done?

Re: Musical guides is this normal?

First Congrats!! I have been on a bunch of outfitted hunts out west, and yes it has happened to me also and I hate it! I tipped my first guide and told him to split it up cause I was not tipping 3 guides. I since have learned to square up the details with guides before I even set foot in the woods now. Live and learn.

My last guide could whistle, but he couldn't sing worth anything.

Congrats... It happened to me on an elk/mulie hunt. I tagged out on both. Had different guides each day. I only tipped the guides who I killed animals.

If they play the guitar and sing, they're great around the campfire at night.

Kudos to you.

Outfitters who assign different guides each day should be made to understand that the only time a guide should be changed is if the hunting party requests a different guide.

Tipping different guides each day becomes pricy.

After all, you probably have already spent a great deal of money for the hunt itself, not to mention how long it took you to save up the money for your hunt! Apparently these outfitters think everyone has bottomless pockets.
