Bobcat/Predator Hunts

Anyone been on a good bobcat hunt? I'm looking for a hunt where I can take more than one bobcat. I'm told that would mean Texas. I would also like to take yotes but a cat is my main focus. Any info would be appreciated

Re: Bobcat/Predator Hunts

You might want to check out the texas hunting forum. They have an outfitter and guides forum and theres a guy there named mulie mike. He seems to have been around a while and be one of the most respected guys on the board. Check it out it cant hurt. BTW I have also wanted to do one of those hunts so if you need a fellow hunter to go with let me know, maybe we can work something out. BTW I have no dog in the fight with that guy I was talking about but if you look at what Im saying you will see there are a few really good places. You might also want to go to Kansas...they are supposed to have great predator hnting there

Re: Bobcat/Predator Hunts

I used to hunt Texas and it was terrific for night time critter hunting as they call it. My friend that I hunted with gave up his lease down there so haven't been in a couple years. I would leave Philly on a Friday morning and get a limited time license for lack of better term and hunt Friday, Sat & Sun nights and fly home on Monday. Was a terrific 4 day weekend getaway. I would normally do it in late Feb-early March. I hunted southeast of Midland/Odessa and we seemed to have much better luck on cats than on yotes we would get into a few fox and the occasional badger. I really miss those trips now. Sorry I don't have an endorsement but I'm sure if you find someone you will have a great time.

Re: Bobcat/Predator Hunts

Thanks for the info guys. I called Hickory Creek Outfitter today. They are a sponsor on HPA. He seemed like a great guy. Said I could trap as well as hunt. Told me theres unlimited property for predator trapping/hunting as the cattle ranches just want them out of there.
