Has anyone ever hunted with Trail Creek Lodge in Montana? Heading out in Sept for Elk, wanted to get some info/feedback.

Never heard of them but you may want to touch base with Montana hunt and fish company. The owners a great guy and he has all private to hunt
I did 2 diy hunts in Mt. last year, and really a guide isn't necessary for elk in Sept or muleys for that matter.I'm going diy next year and looking for partners.I know where the elk are,and good ones at that on a general elk tag
If your getting the combo tag, I'd highly suggest to go back in Nov. for a rifle muley hunt in the rut

Re: Trail Creek Lodge in Montana

I'm not familiar with Trail Creek Lodge, but I am familiar with Montana.

When I did a Google search, I found 2 Trail Creek Lodges - one near Big Timber and one near Cameron. It might help if you'd say which one you're going to?

I spend time in both of these areas fishing during the summer,, and while there are Elk in both places, just from the general areas, I think I'd pick the area around Cameron. -- Now, if you were to ask about the trout fishing in either place, I'd have a harder time picking!!

I shot a 5x5 bull up the Indian Creek trailhead near Cameron back in 1989. Decent numbers of elk then. I have heard that the population is way down from that time as are many areas. Made a trip out that way last year and did not see nearly as many elk as we used to.
