deer /antelope hunts

1. I would like to do a diy hunt or semi guided hunt this year as my 1st choice. Any recomendations or contacts would be appricated.

2. Would also consider an outfitter if my group & I would all pull both tags & If the price was right.

I looked at some outfitters that wanted top $$$ and put you up in a motel at your own expense plus food.

Re: deer /antelope hunts

Wyoming is an excellent choice for an antelope and maybe a so-so buck, if any, on a do-it-yourself hunt......Send for a "tresspass list" of farmers who , for a fee, will allow hunting on their private ranch, where the quality of deer may be a little better, depending on how much pressure they allow......As always, you get what you pay for...An excellent hunter won't get a nice buck if one doesn't exist on the tract of land they happen to hunt. Sure, you'll have the guy jump in here who may tell of the huge public land buck that they shot, but truthfully, this would be the rare exception...Personally, I go with outfitters who hold some of the very best trophy properties....I would rather go on one quality hunt than a bunch of so-so trips..Another option would be to try for a tag in a trophy area..May take a while to draw though.

Re: deer /antelope hunts

i agree with you 100% big ken. i have hunted a private 100k acre ranch outside of casper 6 times over the years for mule deer and antelope. the quality is way better than public land and even private land with trespass fees. where we go you can expect to see and kill 24" and up mule deer and boone and crocket quality antelope. much better to spend the extra money and hunt quality animals
