Georgia Hog Hunt...

We are planning a trip to the outdoor show in Harrsiburg this year to possibly book a hog hunt in Georgia in April. Does anybody have any outfitters that will be at the show that they could recommend. We are interested in "fair chase". Would like to have out choice of weapons i.e. rifle, bow, handgun. We've talked to alot of outfitters at the show before and there seems to be a lot of affordable hunts that claims you will or can shoot more than one hog. We would like to keep the price for the hunt in the 600-700 dollar range. Any info on outfitters we can check out would be appreciated.

Re: Georgia Hog Hunt...

amazon, most of the ones that i have seen at the harrisburg show are around $1000 and some of them have hidden fees such as licenses and cleaning your kill. on the upside, a lot of them are pretty affordable as deer/hog combo hunts.if you want to see something wild, watch some of the guys hunting with knives and running them down with dogs.

hunt 2C, 3A, 4A, and others.

Re: Georgia Hog Hunt...

Yea we watched some of those videos last year of them hunting them with knives. I think I will keep the knife as a tool for field dressing though. They had some good hunts there last year for 600 to 800 dollars. I do know that you have to be real careful on who you choose on these hunts. Thats why I posted this. Hopefully somebody will give me a good outfitter that they had a good experience with.

Re: Georgia Hog Hunt...

I have hunted here and would recommend them. Just south of Savannah. The hog hunts are free hogs, fair chase, not fenced. I don't know about the other stuff, he wasn;t into that two 1/2 years ago when I hunted with Anthony.

Re: Georgia Hog Hunt...

I've hunted with Gary Frye in Screven Georgia. He runs happy acres expeditions. I've posted on here before about him. Great hunts, great lodge, food was not included but the lodge was nicer than my house and we cooked our own meals. Central air, washer dryer etc. We saw hogs at every sit and there is no limit nor are there any additional fees if you kill 1,2,3,or 100 hogs. Give Gary a shout and you wont be disappointed. Google him or ck out his web page happyacresexpeditions.com
