Cedar ridge Maine / Hal Blood

Thinking of booking a hunt for whitetail next fall. Anyone have any information or reviews on this outfitter. Appears to be a high quality operation.

I'm assuming you have either hunted maine for deer or are familar with it. Very few deer up there but some giants. Wouldn't be most peoples choice for an outfitted whitetail hunt but to each his own. Good Luck

I don't have any first hand experience with them, but don't ever recall reading anything negative about Hal Blood or his operation. Everything I've ever seen about the Blood's has been 100% positive. Good Luck.

Iím a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.

Thanks, I have never hunted Maine but I am aware of the kind of hunting and deer densities that exist.

Re: Cedar ridge Maine / Hal Blood

I've heard Hal blood is as good as it gets for deer, I would suggest going on a full guided hunt and not semi, Personally Id never go back to maine for a deer hunt (I went unguided) but if you decided to..Good Luck

I've hunted Maine twice ! Loved it ! Saw only one deer but it was a monster , but couldn't get a shot. Did get a big coyote !!! It's a great experience , unless your the type that isn't happy unless you don't get a deer on every hunt ! My brother got a nice 8 pointer.

Re: Cedar ridge Maine / Hal Blood

Along with the Benoit family, Hal is one of the best pure trackers there is. I have read 2 of his books and would kill for the chance to hunt with him. Just to learn of his knowledge of the woods would be worth the trip for me. I have hunted 12 days from dark to dark in Maine over a 2 year period and have seen 2 deer, its definately not a hunt for everyone. You need to stay alert and make your shot count because you'll probably only get one but like the other guys have mentioned it could be a dandy. If you go please post lots of pictures for me, I'm so envious.
