Re: Wyoming Outfitter

I hunted with Werners a long while back...I hunted on their Lance Creek property for mule deer...Being young and inexperienced, I shot a a 23" 4X4 and then saw nicer ones in the days after I tagged out..The guide was actually the fellow running this ranch for them....The best part of the trip was shooting at the million praire dogs that they had in an upper field..but anyway, there were four of us and we all tagged out the first day of the hunt..We weren't very picky. The following year a few friends went to the same ranch on my recommendation, and the one shot one of the largest mule deer bucks taken in Wyoming at that time. The picture was all over the papers out there...May I suggest an excellent outfitter that I have also hunted with in the same general area.

Re: Wyoming Outfitter

Thanks Big Ken.....what were the accomodations and food like at Werner's ??? ....the hunt a side, were they a first class outfitter of just a ranch trying to make extra money ??? I am interested in the overall experience and willing to pay for it, not just shooting a trophy. You hunted the father's ranch at Lance Creek, correct ?? I believe we are looking at the son's (JJ's) place.

We actually stayed at the ranch hands home with his wife and kids....Food was great...There are a lot of mule deer in the area..They are primarily a cattle ranch though.
