Trip insurance

Looking for advice on trip/travel insurance for an out of country hunt. The hunt itself is fully refundable, is insurance really needed? But I know I should have insurance for the flights. What companies and type of coverage can you suggest and what should we stay away from?

Re: Trip insurance

I have not done any out of the country hunting but I went to Alaska 3 times. I bought trip insurance the last 2 trips and was glad I did. 2nd trip my flight was delayed leaving Philadephia and I missed ajoining flights. I got into Fairbanks a day late and without my luggage. I missed my 1st day of hunting and had to take an unscheduled flight into our hunting destination (at my expense). I just returned from Alaska again and my wife and I were delayed because of hurricane Irene. We won't recope the price we paid for the insurance on that one but it's a piece of mind thing incase something goes wrong. Never heard of a hunt being 100% refundable.
