Re: LAKE ERIE SMALLMOUTH

Yellow you threw me a curveball. I will ask around next weekend.
Would a a Perch trip be of interest? Much easier to come by.

Re: LAKE ERIE SMALLMOUTH

I asked three guys I trust and the all said the same. In the spring no problem. Now almost impossible.

Re: LAKE ERIE SMALLMOUTH

Even I could take you out in the spring and put you on smallies - just ask Roosterbooster.

Re: LAKE ERIE SMALLMOUTH

The bay , along with the shore on the lake are very good in May/ early June.

there is an algae bloom on the lake now like I have never seen before...... the tough thing about the summer is that alot of the(large) smallies will move to deeper water 40+ feet and getting on them to keep an 8 year old occupied can be tough....or could be awesome.
We went out tuesday and didn't get into fish the first 4 spots we went to.......2 hours later we were catching them on EVERY cast and ran out of light.
Weather is a big issue up here. This spring we had a water level almost 3 feet highr than normal. The bay was VERY murky...fishing was still good, but could have been much better.
On the lake, the wind is everything....taking an 8 yo in anything over 2' ers in a bass boat may be scary for him. Any of the south winds would work great for him. West, North, and east over 10 knts can be hit or miss.
