Looking for Opening Weekend New York

Looking to find a very good lodge for the opening Saturday and Sunday in Central NY with a gun for next year. Two or Three day hunt. Any suggestions. Had a Horrible experience two years ago with a very bad outfitter in the Finger Lakes so I'm a little gun shy.

Re: Looking for Opening Weekend New York

If you planning on hunting the Adirondacks I was told the Long Lake area is good for trophy bucks..I was also told the bucks do not start rutting until the later half of the rifle season..Around the Old Forge Area there are alot of fly in floatplane operators who will take you and your gear back into remote areas with lakes where you can set up camp along..Take your GPS with you the adirondacks are huge I almost got lost when I was up there with no GPS...The new bushnell backtrackers are very nice and light.

Went with this outfit a few years ago....Very nicely run place...The outfitter leases local farms...Never saw so much big buck sign in my life!
