Sika Deer Hunt

Looking to put together a Sika Deer hunt down on MD's eastern shore for next Sept.. Usually we like DIY hunts but knowing what the eastern shore is like and never having hunted for Sika Deer we are leaning towards an outfitter. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am thinking about contacting Black Duck Outfitters. I have done multiple hunts with BDO and have never left unhappy, I am assuming they would run their deer operation in the same professional manor as they do their waterfowl operation.

Thanks for any info!

Hunted with muddy marsh outfitters this fall. Very nice guys with great sika ground. The lodge/house is rustic at best but they have a ton of deer.

Curious how you made out? Any success pics? I’m hunting with them in October.

Hey Dave I didn’t shoot one but my cousin shot a decent stag the last night there. Very close action. 10-20 yards max. I could of shot a hynd but was waiting on a stag.

Thanks for feedback! What time of year did you go? I’m heading there 3 days, beginning on Halloween.

We went December 19-21st. They were still whistling a little. I’m sure it would be a blast during full rut

My cousin didn’t see a single one until he saw the one he shot. Heard them whistling and splashing around him but never got to See one, but he saw the only stag. I saw sika every night I hunted. The first night they came in just a little to late to see what they were. The second night had a mother and fawn come in and were around me for a while until my wind switched and they busted me. The third night I saw a couple right at dark again but no stags. The mornings we never saw a single sika, but I saw a couple white tails the one morning. Your allowed to shoot one stag and one yew on the hunt, which I could of shot a yew two nights out of three. The other guy in camp with us did shoot a yew.

Would you hunt there again? Thanks for the info! Appreciate it!
We’ve been trying to book this hunt for a couple years, finally got in. Looking forward to it for sure.
