McGregor River Outfitters

Has anyone hunted for mountain goat in BC with this outfitter or any other outfitter? Would like to hunt for goat in BC only.

Look up Tukii Lodge, Babine Lake, BC. Oh heck, I'll do it for you.

they have a good population of goats, and the guides are super.

Re: McGregor River Outfitters

Yes, but not for goat. Of course there is a story, but I will make it brief. I booked the hunt, and decided to get in shape so I started running. I twisted a knee and tore cartilage so I had to call them and tell them I couldn't do a goat hunt. They were nice enough to let me convert it to a black bear and grizzly hunt. While I was there, a guy from Austria hunted goat and got a really nice billy the first day. I saw goats while hunting black bears that if my knee would have been in better shape I could have put on a climb for. While their hunts are on the high end, price wise, they have a great territory and the two guys who now own the outfit, Lloyd and Jack Hooper, are top drawer. Dave Hooper, their dad, previously operated the outfit and he has semi retired and turned the operation over to his sons. Nice people, a top notch outfit, and great hunting territory.

As a side note, and I know you are interested in goat, I saw over 40 black bears and 22 griz on that hunt.

Re: McGregor River Outfitters

Thanks for the info and when I go I am going to get a black bear tag. You and many others have told me that they are loaded with black bears. Thanks again!
