Re: travel insurance

Not recommending any particular trip insurer because I don't use any, but if you do a google search for "trip insurance" you will find a number of online insurers. For example:

and
http://www.travelguard.com/travelinsurance/index.asp

My wife and I are on Medicare which does not extend coverage out of the USA, so we take out a trip medical and evacuation policy for any trip overseas or to Canada from HTHworldwide.

We have never had to use it, but one bad accident could do you in financially.

Re: travel insurance

One more link for you to consider. Safari Club International endorses several insurance programs for traveling hunters.

I have used their gun insurance when traveling to Africa. You would just hate to lose a valued rifle to airport handling or thievery. I think you have to be a member, which I am, to participate in their insurance programs.

Re: travel insurance

Thanks guys.I basicly want coverage for the cost of licences and the outfitter. Staying in the US and driving, so I have health insurance, etc. Never used it before but as I get older and accumulate infirmaties I think it's a good idea.

Ralph:

Our company offers Travel Guard Sportsman Travel Insurance. This is the most popular company for hunters wanting to cover outfitter costs, license cost and travel expenses. If you'd like a quote for your trip, let you me. Info needed is your age, state of residence, cost of trip and departure and return dates.

Re: travel insurance

I used seven corners trip insurance last year. Fortunately I did not need to file a claim so I cannot tell you first hand how they would handle it. I did a lot of researching on reviews of insurers leading up to the booking of my hunt last year and settled on seven corners. No matter who you chose, it's advisable to pay extra to get a 'cancel for any reason' type of clause.
