Elk hunt

I'm looking for a private land archery elk hunt for 2010 or 11 for 2 guys. I have been on several guided hunts with one being in Montana for elk but on public land. My top price would be about $5,000. Not looking for a monster just some good respectable bulls.
Thanks guys.

Camp life,it don't get much better!

Re: Elk hunt

Check out Elite outfitters in New Mexico. My buddy just came back from there. He shot a 280 class bull. If you check out the website, I think they went 10 for 11 killing bulls in the muzzleloader season and also 10 for 11 the week he was out with the rifle. I believe that most of all the bulls were 280-340 inches. I think the cost is around $4700

Re: Elk hunt

Check BlueMountainOutfitters.com. I have hunted archery elk with him in New Mexico and while not taking a bull have had great hunts and they were on public land. He also has several private ranches with guaranteed tags that he hunts on also in your price range. This year he went 6 for 8 in archery on his public land license draw hunts.

I was on the hunt with Elite Outfitters. I shot a 5X6 on the first morning at 585 yards. This was my second hunt with Elite. Top notch all the way. Don't waste your money anywhere else. I can pretty much guarantee if you can keep up with your guide, you will get a shot. Plenty of 280-320 bulls. I killed a bull in 2007 there with my bow, and drew a rifle tag this year. The hardest part is drawing a tag. Increase your odds and apply for bow, muzzleloader and rifle. Check out his web site and click on the "what's new" link and you can see all the bulls killed this season and the unbelievable success rates for a public land hunt.

Re: Elk hunt

Check out Milligan Brand Outfitters in Colorado and New Mexico. 1st rate outfit, largest elk-outfitter in the nation. My best friend has been a senior guide for them for 12 years until this past season (had first child so took the season off). He's personally guided 40-50 or so clients that have taken bulls over 300". High 200"'s is fairly common depending on when you want to go and what weapon you hope to use. I've done a cow hunt there w/ my buddy for free one year, and it was a great time... One day and we were both tagged out.

PM me if you are interested in finding out more and need contact info for the outfitter. Major migration routes go right thru their leases so you can see some serious elk. You won't be dissappointed....some aweseom mule deer too (one is mounted at Cabela's store) that my friend guided and bear hunting too if interested.

I live to hunt....and hunt to live!
