moose sight seeing

I am looking for any feed back that can be given of a place or a DIY sight seeing trip to Vermont or maybe Maine. Would like to get a place that has places to stay and sight seeing. Any help would be appreciative.

Re: moose sight seeing

Maybe this will help. We usually camp in Lancaster, NH for the fall foilage. The northen section of the Daniel Webster Highway is called moose alley (RT3). For a DIY they have several places that rent cabins in the area and several state parks. On the NH tourism website just look up the Great North Woods region and there is a ton of info.

Sometimes it's not the size of the antlers but the memories we make and the lives we touch.

If you want to see moose in VT go to Island Pond and drive around right at the crack of dawn. If you want to see a lot of moose period go to Errol NH and do the same thing. You don't have to go to Maine to see Moose. Pittsburg NH is maybe even better for Moose watching than VT but there is a nice lodge to stay at in Errol called The Great Northern Lodge.

Re: moose sight seeing

This is the place I was talking about.

If you stop in here the owner will tell you where to see Moose. A half mile down the road from his lodge is one of the best places though. He told me his daughter once saw 13 moose on the bus ride to school! Also NH allows spotlighting for Moose.
