Re: wild boar hunt

my friend went there last year and was very satisfied, though it is a canned hunt.

Re: wild boar hunt

i used high ridge in somerset several times, very satisfied.

that was years ago.

i also used cherry ridge in warren, excellent place but i dont think they do boar anymore.

very bad experience with Tioga in the 80's, check with the District Attorney in tioga county before you go there.

best advice i can give for preserves is take a bow or handgun, rifle is to easy. go when its cold and dont chase them around to much, boar dont sweat and the more you chase them the gamier they taste.

if you shoot them when its cold out and dont run them around they taste like store bought ham. IMHO

lets see....nope that does it.

Good Luck

Re: wild boar hunt

if your ok with spending $1000 going down south would be a fun trip, plus you could shoot as many as you want.

Re: wild boar hunt

Yep, for that money you could have two or three day down south and a real wild boar hunt.

Re: wild boar hunt

I think they are farther then 6 hours away but I hunted with Bosticks about 10 years ago it was a good time. I didnt get a boar but several of they guys I was with did. I would stay away from South Carolina Trophy Outfitters they are a bunch of amamteurs who were more worried about gettting the guides deer and hogs then the paying customers.

Re: wild boar hunt

I am booked with Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge in SC for an upcomming hunt. I hunted last spring at Backwater Boars in Ga. More that 6 hours, but if you can do 6 you can do 8 or nine. Go with friends to split the fuel cost.
