MULE DEER HUNT

Just starting to look into doing some mule deer hunting down the road - probably in 2018 and looking for some ideas on quality outfitters with quality deer. I'm looking for legitimate opportunity on 160 or better class bucks. Not really looking for playing the preference point game on this one as doing that already on a couple other species and not locked into any particular state.

Re: MULE DEER HUNT

I hunted Utah 6 times, on CWMU properties. These are landowner tags, so you don't need to put in a draw or need preference points. The outfitter I hunted with isn't currently hunting deer, only elk. Trying to put some age on the bucks in his unit. Look at any quality hunting consultant's catalogues, they'll probably list some CWMU hunts for muleys and elk. I killed nice bucks on these hunts, including a 189 and a 182.5.

Re: MULE DEER HUNT

Southfork mountain lodge & outfitters Buffalo Wy. was there in 2012, with a fried of mine. We hunted Mule deer & antelope. had a great time. We both killed some nice Mule Deer. Not sure on the scoring because I was never that interested in that, but both bucks were good. The antelope we shot were exceptional. The accommedations were awesome. each group of hunters had their own cabin, meals were in the main lodge, except when out hunting lunch was packed along with a case of water. We seen approximatly over 200 mule deer, many being bucks, not all trophy class though this was in 3 days we hunted since my buddy 7 I each shot our Mule deer on the 3 morning of the hunt. We would go back again without question. here is the the site www.southfork-lodge.com the outfitters names are Wayne & Holli Jones. great people.

Re: MULE DEER HUNT

Depending on your budget, Private land in CO is probably a good place to start looking if a 160 or better is your goal. Plenty of guides with land owner tags. Another option is Alberta.

a trophy mule deer is like no other. good luck
