Anyone ever use Chincoteague Hunting & Fishing Ctr

As the subject title reads, has anyone ever used "Chincoteague Hunting & Fishing Center" in Maryland for duck & goose hunting guide services?

Feel free to post or PM me your experiences, opinions, etc...

Re: Anyone ever use Chincoteague Hunting & Fishing Ctr

A buddy and I are going with them for two days of duck hunt in January. I have never gone with them before. But my buddy has been using them for the last 4 or 5 years. From what I am told a very good outfitter. They will do whatever it takes to get you on the birds. I would stay away from this place...http://www.assateagueisland.com/hunting.htm. I used them last year and they were horrible.

THANKS!

Please try and touch base with me in January and let me know how it went.
My group is looking already for our January 2012 place to go to.

I hunted with Randy Birch for numerous years and he is a good guide who got us into a lot of different bird each day. I am not sure the name of his company. He operates out of Chincoteague.

There's hunting and there's hunting with a good dog

I hunted with Capt Pete Wallace last month. He will get you on a variety of birds. Lots of Buffleheads, bluebills were starting to show up. Also saw teal, blackducks, snowgeese.
Chincoteague is a nice area. He has lots of blinds,Marsh blinds and stilt blinds all set up, and comfortable, and dry.I will head out again for a 2 day hunt with him mid january.
His price is fair, and lots of lodging in Cincoteague

Looks like a great place for my dad and I to go ! What time of year n month do recommend we go for a variety of birds ? How much is a nonresident license.

Re: Anyone ever use Chincoteague Hunting & Fishing Ctr

I never used a guide down there but the public hunting on Assateague Island Nat'l seashore is great. I had a buddy who was a Ranger there in the early to mid 90's. I'd stay with him and we'd hunt the public blinds in the park. At that time, there were over 30 blinds and hunting pressure in January is about non existant. There were times we had the entire park to ourselves. Always killed a limit of ducks on every hunt along with the occasional snow goose or brandt that wondered into the tidal marshes. They operate on a lottery system. You show up, pull a number and take your pick of blinds in the order you draw. Like I said, most times we were the only ones there or there were only a few other guys. They also had several boat blinds out in the bay that were on a "first come" basis. I really miss hunting down there.

I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.
