Another hunt at deerfield

A group of us are going again to Deerfield Plantation in South Carolina. Steve (loridr) is probably there already, and John (JM59), Bumblehick, and I will be driving down tomorrow morning and hunting Sunday through Thursday. I will try to post a report soon after we get back.

Very nice, fellas! Looks like a great trip! Shore is a purdy 8, Mutt. Long g-2s on that one.

That place is on my bucket list.

Re: Another hunt at deerfield

Muttley summed it up well, we had a fantastic trip! Here's another pic or 2....

Below is a pic of the buck I took early in the hunt- I called him in using soft bleats, didn't realize how bad his rack was messed up, but from this pick you can get an idea of the size of his rack (what's left of it).

Loridr and Muttleysgone seemed to have the most luck w/the bucks (and the hogs!) this trip, but I did get a chance to take a coyote, something I've always wanted to do. He came out on a trail exactly where 3 groups of turkey had recently come out. Blasted him with "Thumper" (in the background), my Ruger .300 Win Mag- a tad overkill for coyote

When was the last time you heard somebody say "Go ahead, it's a free country"?
