Re: smallies in Shamokin Dam

It really depends on your boat and river level at the time. I'm on the Millersburg side so I just put in at Millersburg and run up. On the 11&15 side there is a landing Just below McKee's Falls if you want to get closer. On 11&15 after you get on at the Clarks Ferry bridge there are 6 landings between there and McKee's. As far as locating Bass, this also depends on the water level and what rocks are showing.

I've put a lot of time in on the river between McKee's and TMI(over 45 yrs), I still think the best Bass fishing on the river is between Liverpool and the Fort Hunter Ramps.

Re: smallies in Shamokin Dam

If your looking for spots sorry bud not going to help you but there is plenty of launch ramps. If you want to below the fiber dam there is a launch on the sunbury side as soon as you go across the route 61 bridge. If you want to fish above the fiber dam there is a launch ramp on route 11 as soon as you cross the river into northumberland. That one you can fish the north and west branches. Good luck.

Tons of great fishing in that area. No matter where you go there, you will catch plenty of nice smallies! Caught my biggest two ever there last year. 5 and a 5 1/2 lber! Things are looking better and better every single year! I live a couple hundred feet from there!!!!

The past can not be forgotten, but the future is anything you want it to be.

Re: smallies in Shamokin Dam

you are going to need a jet if you plan on fishing above the powerplant its shallow with big bolders that love to ruin boats.. fishing is tough right now post spawn. if i were you i would wait a few weeks till you come up to fish.

If i'm not hunting or fishing i'm thinking about it
