Topwater bass in Fall

How late in the fall do you guys stop having luck with topwater lures? I see guys are hammering smallmouth on the susky now but never really fish much in the fall except for walleye at the river occasionally.

Re: Topwater bass in Fall

The two best topwater baits ive found that work pretty well are the hula popper and the jitterbug.

But honestly for the past 2 weeks, ive been catching 40+ fish each time on a ultralight rebel craw crankbait. they are just killing that thing right now.

good luck!

Re: Topwater bass in Fall

My last trip to the river last fall was November 5th. Managed 5 bass on topwater; Zara Spook. Surprisingly, 4 Large Mouth and only 1 smallie.
All through September and October fish were hitting ALL DAY on top. Got over 100 fish on a few occasions. Fishing from 9am-4pm.

If I use top water on the river I use a Torpedo in different sizes and colors. I think the props make a difference.

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.
