Summertime Crappies

Anybody still chasing specks? I like creek channel swings close to the bank in summer. I slow roll a 1/8oz jig with a 2" twister for most of my crappie this time of year. A lot of times they suck it in on the fall so you really got to be a line watcher!

Bigfoot saw me but nobody believes him!

Re: Summertime Crappies

I've been fishing lakes and ponds. I'm catching a few around offshore cover. We are also catching some while trolling plugs for walleye toward evening. Unfortunately we have been catching more crappie than walleye....or maybe that is fortunate because they have been decent size!

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

I will take crappie over walleye when it comes to table fare.

You just need more of them.

BTW not to change the subject but last year I caught and ate a snakehead. It tasted just like walleye.

Crappie were fired up before the heavy rain hit this morning! Not many big ones, but there sure were lots of them!
