Vandalized cam?

Have my cam 3yrs and never had anyone mess with it.My question is for those that did recieve damage.
Does the cam catch pics and store in the SD card of the vandals or does the card loose memory?
Some cams have small internal memory.Would it be stored there at all?

The answers to all of life's questions are found in the Bible!

Re: Vandalized cam?

As long as the card isnt damaged it will be fine. Static is the worst thing for an SD card. Had bears beatup ours and the card was fine. However they just dont know their own strength and only swat at it a little. However, if someone is going to do damage to a camera Im sure they are going to take the card

Re: Vandalized cam?

410-er: A couple of questions for you. 1)Have you got the damaged camera or was it taken? 2)If you have the camera, is the Sd card still in it?
The Sd card may have caught the person or persons providing the card was not already full or the batteries are low or dead. As for the internal memory some cameras have, I think this only will work if there is no Sd card in the camera (the Sd card is classed as external memory). Best of luck.

Re: Vandalized cam?

Not sure this is related to your question but I had a memory card (SD card) stolen from a camera once and I thought maybe I would get lucky and catch whoever did so from pictures on internal memory (which the camera automatically switched to once there was no memory card) but they must of have gotten away before it took a picture.
