I was actually thinking of this option the other day. It seems like it would be a cool thing, then I got to thinking about waking up to your phone buzzing every 15 mins all night...
I'm not sure how they work like I said, but if that's the case it doesn't sound too convincing to me IMHO.
I agree that using the cell phone to receive pix wouldn't work well for me either. I would have them sent to my email.
It's costing me $30 in gas everytime I check mine so the extra cost of these cameras could be justified - if they work as advertised. I also like the idea of not having to disturb an area by going in to pull the cards. Plus if someone steals the camera, you may actually get a pic of them emailed to you.
I suspect in the not too distant future all trail cams will use this technology.
I have the ScoutGuard 580M out on my Prop in Ohio sending me pics everday. I have it texting them to my cell. This was the only one that trailcampro recommended. It is doing great so far. Got the ATT sim card for 1000 texts a month cost me 118$ for the year. I wiil probably get the unlimited texts for 6 months next time. For about the same costs. When takes a pic it sends it in about a minute. It reduces the pic quality a bit to send it but saves to the card as 5mp. Need to know what cell service you have. You can send it to either 4 email addresses or 4 cell#'s. Thinkin about getn another. pretty neat to have them come right to you.
high velocity , does it take long to set up the acount with the texts, and email address, can it be set up to start ewith a phone call, or does a rep for the camera have to set it all up, thats for your time.
No it does not take long I just went to the mall to the ATT store told them what I was doing, bougtht a simcard with the package i wanted. Once you set up your SD card witch is a little tricky but if I can do it anyone can. You will have to change your file which is easiest done on the computer. It will start pumping pics to you.
PHA I"M not totally sure on that one, but I think the quality for email pics is better. I'm pleased with the text pics.
